People Versus Place Stuart's introduction
The earliest form of photography I pursued, even before the football, and possibly the football sprung out of it, was people versus place. This ‘versus’ may be a conflict or it may be a collaboration – out of which something beautiful emerges. Surely Liverpool helped shaped the Beatles. But then again not every band from Liverpool emerged as The Beatles and some Liverpudlians may have been done-in by growing up by the Mersey.
This section of my web will be dominated by the early people v place pictures I took when I tramped England and Wales imagining I had ‘nine lives’ – these are in black and white… and by the recent pictures taken around the World and nearer at home my beloved and challenging Cumbria. Within the Cumbrian wealth of imagery, there will be mini people versus places, such as when Lou took on the River Eden or when the hottest day ever took on Cumbria just last month. Or when someone tried to retrace steps, back, home, to Cumbria.
