Music Stuart's introduction
When I was still at school I was involved in making music – if running a disco qualifies as ‘making music’. Latterly I have taken to the piano. But it is as a music fan, a radio listener, a concert and festival goer, more of a consumer than a producer, that my musical interest has developed. Most of us are like that I guess. And so it is there has been a frenzy of festivals in the recent summers. There are so many festivals now one could go to one almost every day and night of a long summer. And then there are the ones overseas, beyond the UK. The English festival, and the Scottish, Welsh and Irish ones as well, have really caught my imagination in a way similar to my love affair with football. There is some overlap perhaps.
Trying to see the woods through the trees at a pop festival charged with mass crowds, emotion, band after band and often performing at the same time, has meant that I have chosen themes within the umbrella theme (it often rains at Festivals!) to present my music-photographs. These 15 themes appear in the drop-down menu above. “After The Summer Shower”, one of the themes, shows how we bounce back from disappointment and injury… which leads us into “The Healing Has Begun”. You can work your way through other sections such as “Hair’s A Mess”. If you are wanting to search for a particular festival, or singer, or subject-theme of your own choice, the Search button will get you there.
The music fascination is set to continue, so keep returning to the site to see new picture additions.
“Scenes from a British Summer Country Pop Music Festival” is released in hardback in May 2008.
