The club has gone down in the record books by being the only club that owed the SFA money from a Qualifying Cup tie after it took three matches to settle the third round Qalifying Cup tie against Threave Rovers in 1979. Threave finally got the verdict at the second replay but not before Star had amassed so many bookings that they instead of getting money for the round, the actually owned the SFA.
