Do it for the animals Dec. 3, 2006

If you were to visit Dubai, as I did this week, you would be surprised to see rain, although it did. Back in England’s Lake District it resumed raining as it had before I left. The lakes and rivers are brimful. It’s
rained for about a month. If one was to visit Brooks Mileson’s back garden animal sanctuary, it would look as if he was building a Noah’s Ark – all manner of animals two by two.

And one offs. Animals abused and abandoned by other people.

If I played for Gretna (the club he owns) I would fix this vision in mind and bang in the goals (from midfield) both in his honour and for every animal ever abused by stupid people who think themselves master.
